Amy Galloway majored in Political Science and received her B.A. from the University of Florida in 1981. In 1985 she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law. She began her legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable James Lawrence King (also a Gator). She began private practice at Shutts & Bowen in Miami and thereafter migrated to Fort Lauderdale and continued to practice at both large and boutique law firms.

A focus of Ms. Galloway’s practice is to serve as “outside” General Counsel to mid-size and entrepreneurial businesses based in south Florida, providing legal support and oversight. This niche role allows Ms. Galloway to not only provide legal services but to actively support the leadership teams in all aspects of their business. In 2022, Amy retired from the active practice of law and currently maintains a special counsel role for a few select clients.

On a personal level, Amy is proud to work with Beyond120 to support Mentor and Alumni outreach at the University. She is passionate about climate resiliency and sustainable development, with a focus on increasing awareness and commitment on a local level for preserving and enhancing ocean and beach habitats and reducing single use plastics in the restaurant and hospitality sectors.
