The Ocora may be reserved by the following entities: College of Liberal Arts and Sciences departments, UF departments, and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences-sponsored student organizations. The Ocora may be reserved Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Weekend reservations and events before 5:00 p.m. may be approved on a case-by-case basis. All reservation requests MUST be submitted at least two weeks in advance. The Ocora is not a private event space as Pugh Hall is open 7am-9pm M-F. Individuals may be asked to leave the Ocora to allow event set up and to remain outside the Ocora during the event itself and event clean up, but they may remain elsewhere in the building.
Requestors are responsible for setup and take down of events. Set up time cannot start before 4 p.m. unless approved in advance, and cleaned up 1 hour after event end time. Items included with the room rental include (2) wireless microphones, a clicker, projector, podium, (4) 8′ tables, (4) stanchions, and chairs. The space generally holds up to 100 guests for a lecture-style event or 50-60 for a seated event with tables. Requestors are required to complete a scheduled walkthrough to view the space and acknowledge the guidelines for use at least one week prior to their event. Livestream and recording services provided for an additional fee through a partnership with the College of Journalism and Communications.
Please note: No confetti, glitter, rice, bird seed, candles, or similar items may be used in the Ocora. Banners, posters, and flyers MAY NOT be hung or attached to any walls or over artwork. Damage or extra cleanup fees may be charged.
Permitting
The room user is responsible for following all UF policies and rules. Events with alcohol, events where cash is exchanged, events including well-known individuals, any event open to the General Public, etc., all require permitting. Please review sections 4.1 and 4.1A at Use of University Space – Regulation and Policy Hub (ufl.edu) for more information. To avoid cancellation, your permit must be submitted to ocora-reservations@clas.ufl.edu at least five (5) days before the event’s start date.
