Ed Tancer Good Deed Scholarship

This scholarship honors the generous spirit of Edward F. Tancer and continues his legacy as a humanitarian and community leader. Ed was dedicated to making the world a better place by doing as much as he could for others. He woke up every morning with the thought “who can I help today?” and he would put his thought into action and deliver. Friends and business leaders across the state describe Ed as an altruistic, selfless giver who understood the immense impact of a good deed. His good deeds were direct, personal and private acts that may have been seen by others but were not necessarily publicized, yet had a lasting impact on the recipients. Ed’s philosophy was that daily acts of kindness, both random and intentional, are essential to good leadership. Countless individuals and organizations have thrived and succeeded because of his genuine desire to bring joy to others. Our world needs future leaders who are committed to being involved in the betterment of our communities. The Donor, joined by children Harrison and Leah Tancer, believe that it is essential to lead by example.

This scholarship supports undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who graduate from a high school in Palm Beach County.
